About Taberna La Fragua de Vulcano

La Fragua de Vulcano is a traditional Madrid tavern on the corner of Álvarez Gato and Callejón del Gato, between Plaza de Santa Ana and Puerta del Sol. The menu sticks to the classics: Madrid-style tripe, oxtail stew, homemade lentils, ham and oxtail croquettes, Russian salad and garlic prawns. To start, a tap vermouth with a pincho.

Why we recommend it

  • Classic Madrid cooking: tripe, oxtail stew and lentils
  • Tap vermouth with pinchos, a good start at the bar
  • A few steps from Santa Ana and Puerta del Sol
