About Malasaña

Malasaña rose against the French in 1808 (Manuela Malasaña, the heroine who gives the district its name) and reinvented Spain in the '80s with La Movida Madrileña. Today it's the neighborhood of specialty coffee, vintage shops, vinyl record bars, street art and small concerts. Plaza del 2 de Mayo is its heart. Tribunal and Bilbao are the metro stops.
